The Arts Council of Wales (ACW) has launched a recruitment campaign for eight new senior leadership roles, as part of its current organisational restructure.

The strategic shift follows discussions with staff, the wider arts sector and stakeholders, alongside findings from several recently-commissioned reports into specific artforms, including dance, folk music and English-language theatre. The new roles reflect a strategic shift towards embedding more specialist expertise more deeply within the organisation’s leadership.

ACW is seeking experienced arts sector professionals in music, theatre, dance, arts in health, equalities and community engagement. These appointments are designed to help the organisation better align with Wales’ evolving cultural landscape and to deliver more targeted, effective support across the arts sector.

Wales’ creative landscape is changing — and so is the Arts Council. This restructure is a necessary step in enhancing how we support the arts, and ensuring our work remains relevant, expert-led and responsive to the sector’s needs. The Arts Council of Wales remains committed to strengthening Wales’s cultural ecology and fostering a more inclusive and resilient arts infrastructure for the future.
